Fashion Inspiration: The Great Gatsby

As a fan of anything vintage, i have fallen head over heels in love with the A/W trend "1920's glamour" inspired by next years blockbuster "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. Here's the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rARN6agiW7o. This glamour filled movie is directed by one of my favorite directors Baz Luhrmann and is to come out next summer. This trend has not only enchanted me but also prestigious designers such a Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli and Marchesa. For a flapper inspired look aim for embellished pieces and strong head wear. Keep accessories simple and ladylike. Hope you like.

Ballet Trend

Ballet is one of my favourite style inspirations. Its timeless, elegant and fabulously girly! Based on pretty soft shades with loose styles and dreamy fabrics. Great films for inspiration is Black swan (obviously) and ballet shoes with Emma Watson. Ballet is a fab way to stay in shape and gain good grace and posture. And lets face it, how many little girl didn't want to be a ballerina!. Hope you enjoy them! Miss Louise xox

This is a very casual look based on the traditional ballet colors. The flowering details on the accessories tie in nicely with the vintage style and the colourful necklace turn the outfit fresh and playful. Plus i love the shoes, they look so Chanel :)

A/W Top 10 Must Haves

Summer is finally leaving (Although Scotland never seemed to get it!) and autumn is finally making an appearance. As a Scottish lass i personally love Autumn and winter for numerous soppy poetic reasons but mainly as i can put away the short, unflattering crops tops and denim shorts and take out my jumpers, cardigans and brogues and cover up. Here are my ten must haves for any wardrobe. If you like this, please leave a comment or follow. Either I will love you!
1)Jumpers
Topshop £38, Miss Selfridge £38, Matalan £20
A jumper is an obvious must. Dress it down with skinny jeans and for a vintage and unique look add a peter pan collar. I personally prefer more slouchy as its suits my body shape and feels comfortable.

2) Brogues

Debenhams £28, Dorothy Perkins £10, Debenhams £30
Brogues! These shoes are so versatile! Add to jeans or a dress for a sweet, vintage look. Try to avoid the long, pointy shaped brogues as they may be traditional, aren't the most flattening.

3)Lace
Topshop £48, Miss Selfridge £35, Miss Selfridge £45
Lace is a great textile to dress up or down and perfect for autumn.

4) Faux fur

Asos £80, Accessorize £16, Asos £18
Faux Fur can be a fun trend to work with. I love the fur coat but going for one without ears can add a classy, old glamour look to an outfit. Just make sure it is faux!

5)Owls
Accessorize £12, Accessorize £40, Debenhams £28
Owls are really cute and on trend at the moment. Team with pale, neutral colors for a woodland trend.

6)Lipsticks
Accessorize £5, Lord And Berry £11, Smashbox £15.50
Now is the perfect time for dramatic statement make up and what better way to celebrate this with bold, sultry lips.Line lips with pencil and fill in with lipstick or lip pen. Keep eyes simple and lips bold for a dramatic look.

7)Ladylike Handbags
New Look £12.99, Accessorize £35, Topshop £49
Ladylike Bags are great for not only carrying all your stuff but keeping the classy sophisticated image.

8)Gloves
Accessorize £22, Accessorize £12, Accessorize £22
Leather gloves will keep to the lady like trend or go for fun, colourfull novelty ones for a young, playfull look. Probably best accessory to accompany that look is a fun cheeky smile.

Topshop £165
A leather jacket will keep any outfit new and fashionable and is a must have item for any wardrobe. I would recomend splashing out a little for a leather jacket as they can look so much designer and high end than a cheap copy.

10)Cardigan
Dorothy Perkins £29.50, Topshop £38, Dorothy Perkins £29.50
A cardigan is a must have as it can complete a layering look. I would recommend wearing this with a dress, thick tights and either brogues or military boot for a tougher look.

11 Ways To Make Your Life More Luxurious

As a country girl, i am constantly looking for ways to make my life a bit more luxurious than my current surroundings (mud and cows, I live on a farm) without breaking the bank. I know its traditional to do 10 ways, but i'm very untraditional and felt the last was just as good as the others. So here 11 ways to make your life and household a bit more opulent.

1)Buy New Fluffy Towels.
One of the best feelings in the world is coming out of a hot shower and wrapping yourself in an excessively big, fluffy towel. To keep them fluffy dry them in the tumble drier.

2)Make Yourself Summer Fruit Salads
Obviously fruit it good for you but the bright, happy colors will stimulate your brain. I would recommend this for breakfast or lunch as it will get you rearing to go for work. As for the luxury side of it, will it just looks so pretty doesn't it! Exotic, fancy fruit compared to McDonald Burger? Yeah i think the fruit wins ;)

3)Treat yourself To New, Fancy Underwear
Buy yourself some fancy new underwear. It can be as slutty as you like, no one but you will see it but you can still feel confident and sexy knowing your wearing them. Buying a good shape bra will also work well with your body and hold you better than a poorly fitted one.

4)Buy Posh, Nice Smelling Soap
We've all walked past a lush shop and looked enviously at all the delicious and wonderful soaps. Buying one will last you a long time and will give you that little lift whenever you go to the bathroom throughout the day.

5)Splurge On One Designer Make-Up
I'm always wishing I was one of these people that could casually go into Marc Jacobs or All saints and casually buying a cardigan, not cause its cold but because i could with all the money i make. But a Christian Dior lipstick will only cost you around £20-£30 which isn't much compared to their handbags and such. Save it for special occasions and wear it with such a dramatic and sassy flair, no one will be none the wiser.

6)Treat Yourself Every Friday Afternoon
This one is a personal favorite. On a recent visit to London i discovered macaroons! Wonderful, light beautiful sweet treat that ooze Parisian elegance. On Fridays after work, buy yourself a treat whether it be a fancy cupcake, macaroons or a Starbucks frappe. Sit down and enjoy it knowing the weekend as arrived. Do this regularly to make Fridays a treat.

7) Change Your Bed Sheet & Duvet Cover Often
My bed is one of my favourite places in the world and I love the feeling of sliding into fresh clean sheets. Set a day in the week to change your sheets so your doing it regularly. Not only is it hygienic it will also give you a good nights sleep

8) Buy A New, Sensual Shower Gel
When you take your morning shower, spice it up with a delicious smelling shower gel. My personal favorite is lemonade days from treacle moon. Not only will it stimulate you for the day ahead, others will definitely notice how good you smell!

9) Create A Sassy Playlist!
Ok, this is a bit of an odd one but when i hear my favorite tracks, I immediately start walking taller and more confident. I recommend Paloma Faith Upside Down. It has an upbeat retro vibe.

10)Buy Fresh Cut Flowers
Fresh flowers will make the room seem more fresher and luxurious. Just chose your favorite type, put in a clear vase and voila! I'm personally trying to find Tiffany blue roses but not having much luck....
11)Spritz Yourself With Your Favorite Perfume
Number 11! When feeling a bit down spritz yourself with your favorite perfume.I personally love lady million (have you seen their ad!) and Nina Ricci (Such a cute bottle!).

Geek Chic:BBC Sherlock

BBC Sherlock is a gripping drama written by the brilliant Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and Mark Gatiss which sets Arthur Doyle's Sherlock Holmes tales to modern day London. . The show is starred by the brilliant Bennedict Cumberbatch who plays Sherlock Holmes, the worlds first and only consultative detective who is helped by his flatmate and ex army doctor John Watson.Together they go into the depths of London's grimiest setting to solve murders and crimes. All the stories are pretty close to the original but with moderns twist. This show will have you on the edge of your seat, captivating you to the very last moment.

Sherlock
Sherlock would describe himself as "a highly functioning sociopath". As the worlds only consultative detective, Scotland Yard turn to him when they can't solve a case (which appears to be quite often). Due to his brilliant mind, he can be quite rude and unaware of other people. Just be looking at people, from clues he can tell them practically their life story. Fashion wise, Sherlock is completley uninterested in clothes (which quite ironic considering he wears ALOT of DKNY shirts). and normally leans for simple, well tailored dark clothes. His trademark outfit is his woolly blue scarf and his black trench coat.
Favourite Quote-"Dear God. What is it like in your funny little brains? It must be so boring."
Iphone Case Red Case £24, Jeans Topshop £32, Scarf Accessorize £19, Blouse Dorthy Perkins £25, Necklace Temporary Secretary £18,Coat House of Fraser £45

John Watson

John watson is Sherlock friend and flatmate. John first meets Sherlock in "A study in Pink" as an ex army doctor back from Afghanistan.. Although his calm nature, John still enjoys the adrenaline rush. John cares greatly for Sherlock although he often gets annoyed with Sherlock experiments in the kitchen or his quips about himself a. Fashion wise, John tends to dress for comfort and practicality. He often wears jumpers so I've added a pastel feminine jumper. To reference his army days I've added some military boots.
Favourite Quote- "John Watson: You want to remember, Sherlock, I was a soldier. I killed people Sherlock Holmes: You were a doctor John Watson: I had bad days!"
Jumper Topshop £34, Jeans River Island £40, Bag Accessorize £60, Boots Debenhams £35, Ring Asos £8, Belt Tescos £8, Necklace Temporary Secretary £9

Irene Adler

Irene Adler (played by Laura Pulver) is a sexy, confident "Dominatrix" with compromising pictures of members of the royal family. She is Sherlock equal and the only person to outsmart him. She relies heavily on her charm and her wit to get by in the world. Sherlock doesn't fancy her, but is incredible interested in her    . Fashion wise this girl is just oozing sexy and classy fashion sense and tends to keep her clothes white and black with red lips to create a Parisian, high end look
Favorite Quote- "Look at those cheekbones. I could cut myself slapping that face. Would you like me to try?"
Nail Polish Barry M £2.99, Dress Lipsy £65, Lipstick Boots £8.16, Coat Debenhams £40, Bangle accessorize £12, Eye shadow Dior £40, Shoes Miss Selfridge £48, Watch DKNY £99, Necklace Accessorize £10
Jim Moriarty

Jim Moriarty (played by Andrew Scott) is Sherlock arch nemesis (apart from his brother Mycroft obviously) and a "consulting criminal". He has a network of criminals at his fingertips and a slightly unhinged mind to rival Sherlock's own. He comes up with eccentric and elaborate (and equally entertaining) plans, his most infamous one turning the world against Sherlock. Fashion wise, Moriarty wears a Vivienne Westwood Suit with an Alexander McQueen skull tie. His look is very polished and veers towards italian godfather. For this look, I used some quite expensive high street items but i'm sure it easy to find similar items.
Favourite Quote- "Honey, You should see me in a crown"

Fashion Inspiration: Emma Watson

Emma Watson is a British Actress who is most famous for the role of Hermione Granger in the fantastic Harry Potter series. Born in Paris on the 15th April (same as me!) in 1990, its no wonder with such a prestigious birth place that she is such a fashion icon. Emma's fashions career has made her a known star in the fashion world. She has modelled and represented big names such as Burberry, Lancome and People Tree, and is a favourite with designers like Karl Lagerfeild, Vivenne Westwood and Oscar de la Renta. In 2011 she was voted Glamours Best Dressed and came second this year. In Elle Magazine she was given the Style icon Award by Dame Vivienne Westwood. Emma mixes her style with classic hollywood style with a preppy twist.
